42 chairman of JPKK, JKKR Bentong wants a BN-PH coalition in Pahang

KUANTAN – A total of 42 Chairmen of the Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) and the Bentong Planning Development and Security Committee (JKKR) unanimously support Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) joining to form the state government.

In a joint statement, JPKK Mempaga 2 Chairman, Mat Rozi Omar, said that the coalition between the two parties could resolve the pending government issue as no party got a simple majority after the 15th General Election (GE15).

He however suggested that the state BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail be retained as Menteri Besar.

We are confident that Wan Rosdy is capable of continuing to govern this state and bring stability and prosperity through the BN-PH coalition government.

“In fact, he is also able to lead the state in a better direction as a result of the BN-PH combination, thus being able to defend the welfare of the people as a whole,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

Mat Rozi explained that the support was based on Wan Rosdy’s commitment and success in advancing the state’s economy until it was comparable to Johor and Selangor in terms of revenue collection.

“We are of the view that Wan Rosdy should not be blamed for the tsunami that happened not only in Pahang but the whole country.

“In the current post-GE15 context, the main focus should be on creating a stable state government and efforts to defend the welfare of the people in this state,” he explained.

Pahang has 42 seats in the State Assembly (DUN) and of that number PN has 17 seats, BN (16) and PH (8).
