KUALA LUMPUR – The United States (US) hopes to further strengthen friendship and cooperation with Malaysia based on shared democratic principles and respect for human rights and the rule of law under the leadership of the newly appointed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The US Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken, who congratulated Anwar and the Malaysian people, said that the 15th General Election (GE15) saw millions of Malaysians vote, most of them for the first time, making the election a symbol of the power of democracy. .
