Flooding: 32 areas are still under monitoring

SHAH ALAM – A total of 32 areas are still under flood monitoring throughout Selangor on Saturday.

Selangor Fire Director, Norazam Khamis said, so far all the areas involved are still under control and they are always monitoring regularly.

“Based on records as of 8am, there are still 32 areas under flood monitoring involving Sepang, Sungai Besar, Kuala Selangor, Tanjung Karang, Bestari Jaya and Shah Alam.

“The total number of victims placed in the temporary evacuation center (PPS) is 1,153 people consisting of 299 families,” he told Sinar Harian on Saturday.

Norazam said there are 13 PPS still active, namely Kampung Johan Setia Mosque, Taman Gemilang Hall, Dengkil Public Hall (Cemperai), Bukit Changgang Public Hall, Dato Ahmad Razali Religious Primary School, National Secondary School (SMK) Dengkil and National School (SK) Labu Lanjut.

According to him, the other PPS are in the Kampung Labu Lanjut MPKK Hall, Hala Cara Baru Hall, SMK Jeram, BNO Hall, SK Bandar Baru and Balai Raya Kampung Blok A Sawah Sempadan.

“The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Selangor has deployed 90 personnel for periodic patrols in addition to deploying 10 boat assets and 10 machinery,” he said.
