GE15: Early voters need to choose correctly, avoid PH failure

KUALA SELANGOR: Early voters need to make the right choice in determining the mandate of the government by avoiding choosing Pakatan Harapan (PH) which has failed before.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the 265,531 voters of the first group were reminded to make appropriate judgments and distinguish between the Barisan Nasional (BN) government and the opposition alliance.

He explained that the people had previously given PH the opportunity to make changes in governing the country.

“However, they (the opposition) have failed completely in implementing what was expected for 22 months

“In the last GE14, the people relied too much on the PH manifesto which in the end failed to be implemented.

“Therefore, I am confident that early voters can make the best choice in determining the future of the country,” he said.

He stated this in a press conference after the Kuala Selangor Youth Relaxation program in Puncak Alam Town here, last night.

Also present was Kuala Selangor BN candidate Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

A total of 265,531 voters among police and military personnel became the first group to determine the mandate of the government through the 15th General Election (GE15) in the voting process today.

That number includes 146,737 soldiers and their spouses as well as 118,794 police and General Operations Force (PGA) Police.

Ismail Sabri said that the level of public servant support for BN was still high at the moment.

“During PH’s rule, they showed that government staff needed to be reduced so there was no defense at the time compared to after BN returned to power.

“During my tenure as Prime Minister, various initiatives were implemented for the benefit of civil servants.
“We certainly look after the interests of civil servants much better than PH and I am confident that civil servants will support BN,” he said.

In the meantime, he expressed his disappointment when several Ministers in his Cabinet were removed from the list of Parliamentary candidates in GE15.

“I myself am really sorry when my friends, especially the Ministers in the Cabinet, are not able to compete.

“So it could affect the results of the GE15 later,” he said. – MESSENGER
