HULU SELANGOR – Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) continues to strive to fight for three issues presented by Felda settlers in Hulu Selangor so that they can be resolved immediately.
The candidate for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat, Haniza Mohamed Talha, said that the issue raised by the settlers had been brought up to the Minister of Plantation Industry and Commodities, Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin during his visit to meet the Felda settlers in Hulu Selangor on 31 August.
According to him, the issue raised by the settler was then brought to the highest leadership of Felda to find a solution.
“Alhamdulillah, I received information that the monthly weight limit for palm oil sales has been increased to 20 tons and now it is in the process of being implemented,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
Haniza said that the Felda settlers welcomed the efforts made during her meeting with the group during the day.
“In Hulu Selangor, there are many Felda settlers who are expected to benefit from the decision,” he said.
Thus, he said, the move is also expected to improve the standard of living of Felda settlers.
However, he said, two more issues are still awaiting the approval process, which are related to the opening of accounts for settlers who work their own oil palm plantations and allowing cooperatives to be established by settlers to buy palm fruit.
“I am very positive that these two issues will be resolved soon,” he said.
