KUANTAN – Member of the Teruntum State Assembly from the People’s Justice Party (PKR), Sim Chong Siang has not received any information regarding the cooperation negotiations between Pakatan Harapan and BN to form a government in the state.
Chong Siang said, he was not sure whether a discussion regarding the matter had been held or otherwise.
“I don’t know who discussed it. So I can’t comment further,” he said when contacted by Sinar Harian here on Monday.
Chong Siang who successfully defended the Teruntum state seat in the 15th General Election (GE15) said the matter was left to the leadership to make any decision.
“We are waiting for the leadership’s decision, especially from the Chairman of the Pahang State Leadership Council (MPN), Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari,” he said.
News of the collaboration emerged after Pahang DAP Chairman Leong Ngah Ngah confirmed Pahang PH agreed to join with BN to form a government in the state.
The Pahang State Government is now in limbo when no coalition of parties competing in GE15 obtains a majority.
BN, which is expected to return to lead the state government with a comfortable majority, was surprised by Perikatan Nasional (PN) which won with an advantage of one state seat at the moment.
PN won 17 seats in Tanjung Lumpur, Cheka, Luit, Chenor, Bukit Ibam, Kuala Sentul, Damak, Pulau Tawar, Tahan, Jengka, Beserah, Pulau Manis, Lanchang, Kuala Semantan, Lepar, Sungai Lembing and Panching.
BN won 16 seats in Peramu Jaya, Jelai, Muadzam Shah, Dong, Guai, Kerdau, Kemayan, Benta, Inderapura, Jenderak, Padang Tengku, Batu Talam, Bebar, Chini, Pelangai and Sabai state seats while PH won eight seats in Tanah state seat. Rata, Teruntum, Tras, Triang, Mentakab, Semambu, Bilut and Ketari.
