MR DIY has been recognized as the favorite ‘do-it-yourself’ (DIY) store in Southeast Asia and took home the Regional Award for ‘Best Home Appliance Retail Brand’ in four markets namely Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
The award was received in a ceremony held at Kensington Palace, London, on November 3.
It is the retailer’s fifth World Branding Award and its second Regional Award.
MR DIY Group Head of Marketing, Alex Goh said, the ‘World Branding Awards’ recognizes the best brands in the world for their efforts and achievements based on brand ratings, consumer market research results, and online public voting.
“Awards like this, especially those involving public feedback, are important because they indicate that customers still believe in our ‘Always Low Prices’ promise that is relevant to their daily lives.
“To be awarded the Regional Award once again, and to be recognized as the ‘Best Home Appliance Retailer’ brand in four markets, is very exciting for us. Alex Goh said, MR DIY has come a long way since it first opened in 2005 as a traditional home appliance store, now has 2,300 branches across the region, supported by more than 33,000 staff in Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Cambodia , India, Turkey, and Spain.
