People question where the money comes from if the property is not declared – Anwar

AMPANG: Pakatan Harapan (PH) Chairman, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim criticized PAS President, Tan Sri Abdul Abdul Hadi Awang who described PKR’s requirement that its candidates declare assets as “stupidity”.

Anwar, who is also a candidate for the 15th General Election (GE15) of the Tambun Parliament, said that the proposed declaration of assets by PKR Deputy President Rafizi Ramli is logical and rational as each of their financial sources will be questioned by the people in the future.

“When we become Prime Minister for three years, we generate RM30 billion or RM30 million and Nurul Izzah gets RM5 million, people will ask why it is important to declare assets.

“Because that is an important property declaration, so, Hadi Awang, please understand. This is what happens when religion is used to weaken the ability to think and be critical,” he said in Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Jelajah Harapan lecture series at Tapak Pasar Malam, Bandar Baru Ampang, tonight.

Earlier, Abdul Hadi who is also the deputy chairman of Perikatan Nasional (PN) said that the approach seemed to want to show off to the public.

Anwar added that PH now has the support of Group 70 professor The Malays are known as the G70 thus proving that this party is accepted by all groups.

“Today alhamdulillah 70 main Malay professors for supporting PH. This is a professor who has courage, not a ‘kangkung’ professor,” he explained.

In another development, Anwar promised economic recovery if appointed as Prime Minister.

“Economic issues were ignored (during the previous leadership) because investment was not brought in, the price of goods continued to rise, people’s salaries did not rise but the number of ministers was increased.

“God willing, I will take the oath on November 20, I promise that the number of ministers will be reduced, the minister’s salary will be reduced and the Prime Minister will not take a salary,” he explained.

He also said that he will work with foreign countries to attract investment thus restoring the country’s economy.

“In America, Europe, China, India, Indonesia and my friends from Turkey, Iraq and Qatar, we use those contacts to bring investors to lift the economy.

“While for the young people we will focus on digitalization intelligence. We will give enough exposure either in the office or at home to be given wider job opportunities,” – UTUSAAN
