The Qatar 2022 World Cup is officially open

TROPHY The Qatar World Cup 2022 finally officially opened with a bang at the Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday.

“From Qatar, from the Arab world, I welcome everyone to the Qatar World Cup 2022.

“How wonderful that everyone can put aside all differences to celebrate what unites us all in the sport of football,” said the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Hamad Al-Thani when officiating the prestigious world football championship.

Sheikh Tamim and the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino before that were warmly welcomed by the audience at Al Bayt Stadium.

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and the presidents of Egypt, Turkey and Algeria were among those present to watch the opening ceremony before Qatar’s group stage match against Ecuador.

together with the Qatari singer, Fahad Al-Kubaisi sang the theme song of the tournament called Dreamers

The 30-minute, seven-act show, which also featured US actor Morgan Freeman and hundreds of other performers, paid tribute to all 32 participating nations, the tournament’s hosts and volunteers.
