KLANG: Residents around Klang are worried that severe flooding like the one that happened in December last year will happen again due to the current situation of frequent heavy rains and areas that have started to be flooded.
One victim, Chee Ee Ann, 40, said that the incident last year still haunts her even though her residential area in Pandamaran did not experience severe flooding like some areas in last year’s incident.
“If I’m not mistaken, it rained at 11 o’clock last night (Wednesday). The rain did not stop for several hours, causing the water level to rise up to ankles,” he said when met in Pandamaran, here, today.
Another victim, Woo Tian Meen, 35, said the water rose so quickly that he immediately moved his belongings to the second floor of his house and luckily the water started receding at about 7am.
“I hope whoever became the Klang Member of Parliament this past year, please solve the flood issue in this district.
“I’m sure many residents in Klang are tired of facing the same incident,” he said, who has lived in Pandamaran for 10 years.
Meanwhile, the BN candidate who contested in the Klang Parliament, Tee Hooi Ling, when reviewing the situation of the affected residents, said that he would do his best to resolve the issue.
According to him, his team is currently drawing up several plans to overcome the flood problem in the Klang Parliament. – MESSENGER
